William Drews

January 25, 1941 — October 3, 2022

On Monday, October 3, 2022 William Edward Drews, better known as Bill, passed away at Watertown Regional Medical Center.

Bill loved life and was known as a fun loving, warmhearted and generous person. Bill spent most of his life working in construction with several years running his own general contracting business. He enjoyed golfing with his family, watching softball, going to the stock car races and singing and playing his guitar. For many years, he and his former wife had a band that played at countless venues as well as special occasions. His family remembers his guitar was always sitting in the corner of the living room ready for him to pick it up and play.

He was born on January 25, 1941 to the late William and Rose (Knasinski) Drews. He grew up in the Oconomowoc area along with his 15 siblings. Bill moved to Plymouth, WI with his now former wife and kids in 1970. Bill returned to Watertown in 1992.

Bill is survived by his partner Mary Raether, son Kelly (Kelly) Drews of New Holstein, daughter Denise Drews of Plymouth, grandchildren Zach and Allyson, great-grandchildren Gage and Kylie and his former wife MaryAnn (Peltier) Drews. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Sandra) Drews, sisters Shirley (George) Palen, Charlotte (Sherman) Pagenkopf, Joanne Field, Sally (Robert) Marks, Diane Brown, Rosemary (James) Brown, Gail (Jeff) Denkins along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Proceeding him in death were his parents, brothers Leroy (Emily) Drews, Richard (Sharon) Drews and Joseph Drews, sisters Hildegarde (John) Staus, Deloris (Wilbert) Oldenhoff, Marjorie (Jack) Koeffler, and Sandra Houk.

The family would like to thank Pederson-Nowtka Funeral Home for their help. Per Bill’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
