Margaret Cox

November 9, 1925 — October 22, 2020

Margaret M. Cox, 94, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at Agrace Hospice Inpatient Center in Janesville.

Margaret was born on Nov. 9, 1925 in Randolph, WI the daughter of William and Esther (Rousseau) Smith.  Margaret married the love of her life, Sidney Cox at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Randolph on Aug. 2, 1944 and the couple enjoyed 73 wonderful years together. Margaret and Sid owned and operated Showcase Jewelers for over 40 years and Wishing Well Hallmark for 20 years, both in Whitewater. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. Margaret was a patient, gentle, soft spoken lady that loved meeting people.  She was always prim and proper and always well put together. Her hobbies included golfing, traveling, cooking, baking, stitching and embroidering. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Margaret was the matriarch of her family and she will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Survivors include: Children Mary (Ted) Farberg of Janesville, Daniel (Patricia) of Gateway, MT, John (Joanne) of Waukesha, Joan (John) Feilbach of Watertown; six grandchildren Jason, Mark (Shelby), Adam (Nichole), Elizabeth (Eric), Matthew and Megan (Dane); five great grandchildren Brooklyn, Addison, Aaron, Gavin and Easton; sister-in-law Betty Draheim of Randolph. She is also survived by a special family friend Trisch Bass, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, 4 brothers and a sister.

A private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church with Fr. Vince Brewer. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Milton Senior Living, and Agrace Hospice Janesville for their care and compassion given to Margaret.
