Lyle Schumacher

June 29, 1936 — August 14, 2019

Lyle C. Schumacher, 83 of Watertown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Rainbow Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.

Lyle was born on June 29, 1936 in Oak Grove, WI the son of Carrol and Doris (Druecke) Schumacher. He married the love of his life Judy Paulsen on March 31, 1984 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown where he was a lifelong member. And the couple enjoyed 35 years of marriage. Lyle proudly served our country in the United States Army for 3 years serving in the Korean War. He worked as a Tool and Die maker at Eaton Corporation for 42 and a half years. Lyle loved sports, especially motorsports, he had a passion for NASCAR racing and many other types of auto racing. He had a passion for hot cars and working on his 1980 trophy truck. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

Lyle is survived by his wife Judy, children: Kelly (Randy) Braunschweig of Watertown; Bryan Paulsen of Watertown; and Deb (Curt) Pederson of Sun Prairie. 6 Grandchildren: Stephanie (Cody), Katie (Ted), and Melanie (Ryan); Brianna (Michael); Eric and Kendra. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Stella, Penny, and Zane. His sisters Barbara (Bill) Mullin; Mary Lee Peterman; and Janet Schumacher, and his loving companion LJ.  He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Lyle will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Todd Iverson presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9:00am until the time of service.

Memorials in Lyle’s honor to Immanuel Lutheran Church, UW Cancer center in Johnson Creek, and Rainbow Hospice would be appreciated.
