James F. McMillen Jr. “Freddy”, 69, of Watertown passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Angels Grace in Oconomowoc.

Freddy was born on January 1, 1952, in New Albany, Mississippi, the son of James and Frances (Bryant) McMillen. He married the love of his life Jody Nix on June 26, 1976, in Macedonia, MS, and the couple enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Freddy was called into ministry and was the pastor of churches in Mississippi, Kansas, and Wisconsin for the majority of his life. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and an occasional afternoon nap. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Freddy is survived by his wife Jody, children: Melinda K. (Joshua) Dorn of Ninety Six, South Carolina; Shannon Smith of Huntley, IL; Mark (Krystina) McMillen of Ixonia; and David (Crystal) McMillen of Watertown. Grandchildren: Cynthia; Molly; Elsie; Brendon; Gavin; Owen; Eliana; Andrew; Benjamin and his siblings Sammy (Becky) McMillen and Shirley (Rob) Rutledge. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Freddy will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service.

Freddy has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Others Fund at Calvary Baptist Church would be appreciated.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Aurora Summit and Angels Grace for the care and compassion given to Freddy.
