Frances Jones

Frances M. Jones, 77 of Watertown passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her home.

Frances was born on March 18, 1943 in Watertown the daughter of Arnold and Marie (McCarty) Griep. She was a graduate of Watertown High school. After high school she worked as a telephone operator at Watertown Wisbell before marrying the love of her life Don Jones on September 1, 1962 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church and the couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage before his passing on September 28, 2019. She then worked as a receptionist at Lindberg Heavy Duty Electric Company and also worked at the information desk and later moved to medical records at Oconomowoc Hospital. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown for a majority of her life. In her free time Frances and Don enjoyed going to Bible studies and camping. She had a passion for gardening and loved flowers. Above all Frances enjoyed being with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Frances is survived by her two children Scott (Michelle) Jones and Susan Willing. Grandchildren: Amanda (Justin) Magsamen; Tiffany (Timothy) Jaquith; and Cassandra Jones. Her sister Frieda (Bob) Kelman and brother Franklin Griep. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Edward and David Griep.

A public graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
