Thomas W. Hornickle, 71 of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on September 11, 1943 in Watertown, the son of Walter and Leona (Mucks) Hornickle. Tom is a 1961 graduate of Watertown High School. While attending Watertown, he met his wife Rose Kohn and the couple was married on November 3, 1962 in Portsmouth, VA. Tom and his "Rosie" treasured 52 years of marriage. Tom was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He loved spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and following baseball. Tom had a deep appreciation for music and looked forward to Sundays during Riverfest where he and his family took in the local talent. Above all else, Tom was a devoted family man. He cherished time with his wife, children and grandchildren and had an unquestionable ability to make each one feel special. He was fun and full of surprises and will be deeply missed.
Tom is survived by: his Wife Rose; Children Patrick (Becky) Hornickle of Burlington, Kimberly (Nathan) Springer of Prior Lake, MN, and Kathleen (Carl) Wagner of Trempealeau; 6 Grandchildren Riley, Ben, Connor, Sydney, Christopher, and Claire; Brother Steve (Karen) Hornickle; Brother-in-Law Phillip Peck. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents and beloved Sister Nancy Peck.
Memorials in Tom's honor to Watertown American Legion Post 189, Rainbow Hospice or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held in Tom's honor at 11:00AM on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Kral presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.
