Suzanne Warren

November 3, 1931 — November 4, 2015

On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, Suzanne (Stauss Cowan) Warren, 84, went to be with her Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, from her home in Watertown, Wis. She was born November 3, 1931, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Herbert and Katherine (Werner Platt) Stauss and was later adopted by her stepfather Marion "Jack" Cowan. While enrolled at San Francisco State College (now SFSU) Suzanne met a sailor, David Charles Warren, at a church outing. They were married on June 23, 1953, and Suzanne completed her degree the next year. After 20 years in South San Francisco, Suzanne and David then lived in Gig Harbor, Wash., for over thirty years.
As a young girl, Suzanne personally trusted in Jesus Christ. She delighted in sharing His love through serving others; singing in the church choir, teaching children's Sunday school, Cub Scouts, tutoring, and Jewish outreach ministries. She often opened her home to families in need.
She is survived by her brother Roger (Sam) Cowan, and sister Linda (Vilas) Pasts; children David (Dondeena) Warren of Anderson, Ind., Vicki (Bill) Mulder of Watertown, Tim (Leah) Warren of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Joel (Dawn) Warren of University Place, Wash.; grandchildren Tricia (Caleb) Sturm, David (Catie) Mulder, Daniel Mulder, Megan (Josiah) Enrique, and Paul Mulder, Candis, Courtney, and Carissa Warren, and Jeremy and Joshua Warren; and great-grandchildren Melody, Jasmine, and Jaxson. Suzanne also is survived by a number of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an unnamed infant, and a stillborn grandson Timothy Mulder.
The family is grateful for the loving encouragement of the Calvary Baptist Church (Watertown) family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the church would be appreciated. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church (Watertown) with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding and will be live-streamed and archived at www.cbcs.org. Family will greet guests at the church Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery. Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home is serving the family.
