Susan L. Hady, 75, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, peacefully at her home.

Sue was born on June 3, 1950, in Watertown, the daughter of Erwin and Louetta (Schroeter) Kusel. She went to college at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and earned her Bachelor’s degree in teaching. As a nurse, Sue worked at both Dodge and Jefferson County nursing homes and finished her career at UW-Children’s hospital. Her life’s work caring for others will not be forgotten.

In her spare time, Sue could be found cheering on the Badgers, Packers or Brewers. She was also a voracious reader and always enjoyed reading with a good cup of coffee. Outside of home, she loved spending time with her friends, exercising at the YMCA and visiting with her grandkids. Anyone that knew Sue knew what a big and fun personality she had, and she will forever be remembered for her quick wit and confidence.

Susan is survived by her children Emily Hady and Elizabeth “Libby” (Harold) Welhouse. She was also Nana to her grandchildren Harry and Jack Welhouse, who she couldn’t be prouder of. She is also survived by her brother Ralph (Georgie) Kusel, her sisters-in-law Phoebe Kusel and Cheryl Kusel, her two very best friends, Sally Riolo and her pug Lenny, as well as, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robin (Joan) Kusel, Victor Kusel, Richard Kusel, and sister Anita Ebert.
