Stephen R. Wood, 59, of Waterloo passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg with his loving family by his side.
Stephen was born on December 16, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts the son of Fredrick and Marion (Kelly) Wood. Stephen married the love of his life, Joyce Stangler on June 7, 1991 in Jefferson, Wisconsin and the two enjoyed 26 years of marriage together and were blessed with four wonderful children. Stephen worked as a painter and took pride in the fact that he painted some of the Parade of Homes in Madison. For leisure, Stephen loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being out in nature. Stephen loved a good joke and was always ready with a clever one liner for any situation. Above all else, Stephen loved spending time with his family. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Stephen was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Stephen is survived by: his loving wife, Joyce Wood; his four children, Jeannette (Daryn) Buss, Tiffany (Michael) DiMaggio, Stephen Wood Jr. and Amber Wood; five grandchildren, Andrew, Dante, Sophia, Charlie and Gabriel; and one brother Michael Wood. Stephen is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Stephen is preceded in death by: his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Waterloo on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00AM with the Rev. Robert Kosky Jr. presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the time of service.
