Sandra Jean Sullivan, 76 of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2026.
Sandra was born on March 1, 1949, the daughter of Daniel and Edna (Schliewe) Sullivan.
Sandra touched many lives through her deep commitment to service, serving as a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary #189 and VFW Auxiliary in Watertown, along with her invaluable contributions to the Lebanon Historical Society.
Sandra found joy in her church community and was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Her love for the church was evident in her active involvement—whether it was singing in the choir, ushering, volunteering with the altar guild, or nurturing young minds as a volunteer librarian in the day school. She also served on the board of education, always striving to help children learn and grow through various means.
An admirer of all things Amish, Sandra held a special fondness for their quilts and lifestyles. Proud of her heritage, she took on the cherished role of family historian. Sandra was a creative person and dedicated countless hours to crafting, cross-stitching, and rubber stamping. A true lover of games, Sandra enjoyed spirited rounds of cribbage and scrabble, oftentimes stepping in as the designated "game rule reader," making the game even more fun for her friends and family.
As Aunty Sandy, she embraced her role as a loving aunt to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She had a warm spirit that extended beyond her family, frequently organizing sandwiches in the park.
Sandra was a proud educator, and graduated from Watertown Senior High in 1967 and earned both her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in education from UW-Whitewater. She dedicated over 40 years to teaching in the Dodgeland School District, where her passion for learning had a lasting impact on her students.
Sandra is survived by her siblings Gary (Judy) Sullivan and Elaine Mason, niece and nephews Matthew (Sarah) Sullivan, Michael (Heather) Sullivan, Julie (Adam) Gauthier, and Amy Trupke. Sandra is also survived by a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Glenn Mason.
Memorials in Sandra’s name may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or American Legion Post #189.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Watertown with Rev. Aaron Reseburg presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Sandra will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lebanon following the service.
