Ronald E. Hassel, 84 of Watertown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 14, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Ron was born on July 6, 1930 in Mitchell, SD to Sophus John & Laura (Camp) Hassel. Ron married Elizabeth Davis on July 25, 1957 in Coconut Grove, FL and the couple was blessed with 57 years of marriage. He was a hard-working man and labored his entire life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown and thoroughly enjoyed hearing the Gospel preached during the "Newfocus" ministry gatherings. Ron loved and took comfort in listening to hymn and studying the Holy Scriptures.
He is survived by: his Wife Elizabeth; Children Susan (Ronald) Turcotte of Watertown, Robert (Lynn) Hassel of Champaign, IL, Ralph Hassel of New Port Richey, FL, and Sarah (David) Heberg of Wheaton, IL; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchildren; and 4 of his siblings. Ron is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Newfocus Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown would be appreciated.
A private family funeral will be held at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hassel presiding. Burial at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery will follow the service.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of celebration at 4:00PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown with Rev. Dr. Robert Loggans presiding.
