Roger Schimmel

Roger A. Schimmel, 63, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Sylvan Crossings.

Roger was born on September 13, 1954 the son of Charles and Freida (Jaeger) Schimmel. Roger married Susan Scheel on September 20, 1997 at St. Paul’s in Waterloo. Roger was a family man. He loved spending time with his family and was happiest with them. He was a loving father to his two children, Mary and Ben and he cherished his granddaughter Dixie. Roger was a jokester. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a good joke. He also enjoyed bowling and being active before a serious motorcycle accident took that away from him in 1986. For leisure, Roger enjoyed playing computer games and taking boat rides. His family will dearly miss him and will cherish their fond memories of him.

Roger is survived by: his loving wife of 21 years, Susan Schimmel; 2 children, Mary (Mikey) Wortman, and Ben Crawford; a granddaughter, Dixie; 4 siblings, Ruth Breyer, Rose (Paul) Rogers, Rita (Gary) Leaf, and Ronald Schimmel. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, and a brother-in-law, David Breyer.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sylvan Crossings, Care Wisconsin and Generations Hospice for the loving care they provided Roger.

A funeral service will be held in honor of Roger at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo with the Rev. Robb Kosky presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.
