Roberta Ann Roser

December 5, 1935 — October 8, 2023

Roberta Ann Roser was called home to heaven on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc.

She was born to Robert and Gertrude (Jorgenson) Durstewitz in upstate Vermont on the border of New York on December 5, 1935. She grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey where she met and married the love of her life, William Kenneth Roser on June 16, 1956. She was friendly, compassionate, caring, and a peaceful presence that reflected God’s love. After the birth of their first child, Paul, in Springfield, Illinois, she loved being a homemaker and raising their family. She was a wonderful mother who lovingly cared for Deb, their special needs daughter. She went back to school in 1984 and received her licensed practical nursing degree, fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse. When she became a grandmother, she loved the time she was able to spend with each grandchild. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, gardening, baking, crocheting, and especially reading. She daily studied God’s word in her personal devotion time. As Roberta would say often “I look forward to the day I see you in Heaven”.

Roberta is survived by her children Paul Roser, Timothy (Ann) Roser, and Eunice (Gerald) Berndt. Grandchildren: Sarah (Brandon), Rebekah, Andrew (Claire), Rachel (Gage), Brendan (Abigail), and Luke (Kayla), great-grandchildren Kaylee, Amelia, Nathan, Arya, Eleanor, and Judah and her sister-in-law Alma Durstewitz. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Deborah, and brothers Donald and Jerald.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown, with Rev. David Groth presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to a Hospice Center of one’s choice, the Humane Society, or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Shorehaven and Legacy Hospice for the care and compassion given to Roberta.
