Watertown

Robert J. “Bob” Linskens, 88, of Watertown, passed away on June 12, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on April 3, 1938, in Milwaukee, the son of Albert and Delberta (Guenther) Linskens. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On November 28, 1959, Bob was united in marriage with Karen Ruland and the couple shared 59 happy years together until her passing in 2018. Bob was a journeyman machinist at Kearney and Trecker in Milwaukee until 1973 when he and Karen purchased a farm. In 1978, Bob started a construction business used primarily for cattle and calf barns and also supplied firewood locally. Bob and Karen were devoted parents and loved spending time with family. In their free time, Karen and Bob enjoyed many getaways together. Family meant the most to Bob, and they made memories together going out for family dinners, sharing small everyday moments, and having the family all together at the farm. One of Bob’s most recent favorite things to do was watch old westerns. He also enjoyed gardening, where his specialty was garlic. He took pride in preparing it and giving it to family and friends throughout the year. Bob had a passion for collecting guns, reloading ammo, and going to gun shows where he was well known and made many lifelong friends. Bob will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

The family extends a special thanks to Jenny and team from Rainbow hospice for their loving care of “Pa” and compassion during this difficult time.

Bob is survived by: his children Robert Linskens, Christine (Paul) Glavin, Linda (Peter) Caine, James (Lynn) Linskens, and Timothy (Brenda) Linskens; grandchildren Jared (Jamie), Benjamin, Erin (Avery), Joshua (Genelle), Jacob (Megan), Jeremy (Kourtney), Joseph (Katelin), Gabriel (Robby), Kaitlyn (Ethan), and Sydney; great-grandchildren Jaxynn, Jamison, Wallace, Warren, Webster, Raia, Calloway, and Bonnie; brother Harry (LaVonne) Linskens; and special friend Sharon Ferry.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Karen, and brothers Tom, Joe, and Chuck.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
