Richard Anton Meier, 82, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Agrace Hospice Inpatient Center in Fitchburg.
Richard was born on March 4, 1936 in Cross Plains, WI, the son of Matt and Christina (Marking) Meier. Richard served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1954-1958. He married the love of his life, Billie June Trammell on October 18, 1956 at the McClellan Air Force Chapel in Sacramento, CA. Richard worked at Perry Printing Co. of Waterloo for 31 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish Waterloo. Richard loved to travel and ride his bike, but above all other interest, he enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren.
“Dad, Grandpa, you taught us so many things about life and living. We were truly blessed to have you in our lives. The most precious things you gave us were our hearts full of memories and your unconditional love. We will miss you and love you forever.”
Survivors include: Wife Billie of Waunakee; Children Richard (Jeannine) of Fitchburg, Deborah of Waunakee and Timothy (Michelle) of Lodi; Grandchildren Amy Yelk, Eric Yelk, Wyatte Meier and Whitney Meier; Sister Annabella Acker of Waunakee; Brothers Daniel (Charlene) of Cross Plains, Valentine (Judy) of Kirkwood, Mo. and Phillip of Verona. He is also survived by a number of Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Jim and Wilfred, Sisters Celia Brabender and Francis Kahl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Holy Family Parish Waterloo with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday at 10:00 AM until the time of the mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo.
