Pettronella K. Simons

Pettronella “Nell” K. Simons, 88, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.

Nell was born on February 8, 1937, the daughter of Gottfried and Irene (Nennig) Claas. She was a graduate of West Bend High School. She married Larry Simons on July 31, 1993, in Hustisford and the couple enjoyed 27 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. She loved living on the family farm where she enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and restoring old furniture. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Nell is survived by her sister Barbara Vanderbunt, nephews Brian and Andrew Vanderbunt, niece Kathryn Bacon, sister-in-law Kathleen Claas, stepson Gregg (Kris) Simons, stepdaughter Lynn Zastrow, step grandsons Dan (Meghan), Mike (Chelsey), and Tony, and her step great grandchildren Evelyn and Lucas. She is also survived by a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, brother Sam Claas, brother-in-law Ned Vanderbunt, stepson Scott Simons, and stepson in-law Dean Zastrow.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Hustisford Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Kathy Hospice for the care and compassion given to Nell.
