Patti S. Maertz, 57 of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at her home.
Patti was born on June 19, 1967, in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of George and Delores (Grossman) Bleecker. Patti grew up in Waterloo and attended Waterloo High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Mark Maertz. They feel in love in Mr. Culbertson’s English class when they were supposed to be reading Gone with the Wind. In her senior yearbook, Patti shared that her goal was to be a loving wife and mother. She excelled on both accounts. Together, Patti and Mark cerebrated over three decades of marriage and had two daughters, Katie and Megan.
Patti had a gift for making things beautiful. She turned houses into beautiful homes, patches of earth into beautiful gardens, and fabric and feathers into beautiful crafts and costumes. Above all, Patti cherished the time she had with her family. She turned ordinary days into beautiful memories.
Patti is survived by her husband Mark, children Katie (Angel) Rubio and Megan (Ben) Maertz-Langrehr, mother Delores Karow, and siblings Peggy Bollig, Karen (Jon) Hartman, and Dale (Denise) Bleecker.
Patti is preceded in death by her father.
