Nyla Mae Rosemary Wagoner peacefully met with angels and her maker at the heavenly gates on April 8, 2026, at The View in Johnson Creek.
Nyla Mae Uselman was born on Dec. 13, 1940, in Madison, Wisconsin, daughter of Roman Sr. and Dorothy (Everson) Uselman. Nyla married Clifford Heard on June 13, 1959, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown. Nyla married Milton E. Wagoner on Sept. 15, 1988, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ronald Mach.
Nyla graduated from Johnson Creek High School in 1959. She worked at Marquardt Memorial Manor as a Certified Nurse's Aid, then worked in their Activity Department as an Activity Assistant where she retired in 2000 after 15 years. `
Nyla enjoyed camping with Milt and Tuffy, her favorite cat and later after camping days, Tigger. She also enjoyed dancing and volunteering for Marquardt Memorial Manor. Nyla was a member of the Hartford Y-Knots chapter of the Wisconsin Camping Association of Wisconsin for many years. She was the Treasurer for the Y-Knots for 2 years. Nyla also held the position as a delegate for her chapter. She was a member of the Meadow Woods Lioness, for which Nyla had been Vice President, President, Skirt Twister and Delegate for the Lioness District 27-A2.
Nyla is survived by : her daughter Donna (Carlton) Cooper, Macclesfield, NC; son Robert (Bonnie) Heard, Burlington, WI; grandchildren Jacob (Alysha) Heard Burlington, WI, Douglas Cooper, Burgaw, NC, and Rachel Cooper, Macclesfield, NC; step-grandchildren, James (Brittany) Othmer, NC, and Elizabeth Othmer, SC; great-grandchildren Riley (Brianna) Othmer, CA, Bryson Othmer, NC, Brian Cooper, NC, and one on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters Rose Branscombe, WI, Carla Blew, GA; brothers Joseph, Edgar (JoAnne), Gerald, Henry Uselmann, all of WI; sisters-in-law, Maria Uselman and Katherine Wagoner, WI, Jennie Clemens, IL; and many nieces and nephews and very close friends.
Nyla is preceded in death by: her husband Milton in 2023; her parents; 2 brothers Roman Uselman Jr. and William Uselman; 2 sisters Delores and Mary Ann Uselman; sister-in law Beverly Uselman; brothers-in-law Don Branscombe, Conradd Blew, Gerald and Kenneth Wagoner; father-in-law Walter Wagoner; step-mother-in-law Leona Wagoner; step-sister-in-law Norma Borchardt; nieces Shannon Wolff, Lisa Leete; and great-nephew Chase Wolff.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc, with Rev. Sarah Stumme presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Following the service, burial will be at the Aztalan Cemetery, County Highway Q, North of Aztalan near Interstate 94.
If desired, memorials in Nyla’s name can be made to the Aztalan-Milford Cemetery Association, the Watertown Humane Society, or Rainbow Hospice.
