Norma E. Cox

Norma E. Cox, 95 of Madison (formerly Waterloo), passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Madison Pointe Senior Living.

Norma was born on October 22, 1930 on the family farm near Cambridge, WI, the daughter of Harlan and Ludmilla (Kostner) Armstrong. She was united in marriage with Jim Cox on December 15th, 1951 in Edgerton, WI and the couple shared many treasured years together until his passing.

Up until retirement Norma worked at various jobs in Waterloo including Jerry's Iron Kettle and Jim's Cheese Pantry, where she made several lifelong friends. Norma was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed feeding her hummingbirds and chipmunks, and spent a significant amount of time enjoying the wildlife that she could see from her deck on the edge of town. What she loved most of all was spending time with her family.

Norma is survived by: her children Pam (Patrick) Krebs and Tim (Stefanie) Cox; four grandchildren, Ryan (Kelsey) Krebs, Kevin (Dolores) Krebs, Carter Niesen and Maxwell Niesen; great granddaughter Maggie Krebs-Reyes; her siblings David (Cindy) Armstrong of Texas, Laverne (Bonnie) Armstrong of Missouri, Laurette (Victor) Garrido of Florida and other relatives and friends.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, brother Willie Armstrong and sisters-in-law Dianne Sampson and Lilabelle Armstrong.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. Robert Moberg presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Norma will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery following the service.
