Meta Weihert

Meta E. Weihert 93, of Fall River formerly of Waterloo passed away on Saturday May 27, 2017.
Meta was born on July 11, 1923 in Waterloo the daughter of Charles and Hermine (Meyer) Weihert. She graduated from Waterloo High School in 1941. Meta was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Waterloo, Dorcus Society, Waterloo Historical Society and The Friends of the Library. Meta worked as a production worker at the Waterloo Shoe Factory for 30 years retiring in 1988. After her retirement, she worked at Jim's Cheese in Waterloo. Meta had many hobbies. She enjoyed ceramics and knitted quilts for many of her family members. She was also known by her family and friends to be a spirited dancer. Meta was a quiet and kind lady that will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, five sisters, two in infancy, a half-brother and a half-sister.
The family wishes to thank Hillside Hospice and the Meadows of Fall River for their care and compassion to Meta.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday June 3, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
