December 19, 1946 — May 2, 2025

Waterloo

Maxine B. Collins, 78 of Waterloo, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, May 2, 2025 at her home.

Max was born on December 19, 1946, in Ohio. On November 11, 1972, Max married William Collins and the couple shared 52 years of marriage and had 3 children. She was a very smart and organized woman who had a great attention to detail and kept her household organized while she and William ran their family business. In her free time, she enjoyed doing crafts. Max was an avid reader, and never left a book sale with less than 10 books. From the time Max was old enough to reach the stove, she loved to cook and went on to become a wonderful cook and baker for her family.

Max is survived by: her husband William; children Valerie, Mia and Will; grandchildren Nina, Emma, Spencer, and Devon; and beloved dog Maggie. Max is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

We wish to offer a special thanks to her niece, Deanna, and to Max’s doctor, Doctor Nicole Hemkes MD, for all the caring support they provided to her and the family during this difficult time.

Max is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings James, John, and Lori.
