Mary J. "Joan" Warras

Mary “Joan” Warras, 97, of Watertown, originally of Milwaukee, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Marquardt Manor Health Center.

Joan was born on January 12, 1929, the daughter of Bernard and Leona (Springob) Warras. She worked as a Library assistant for many years at UW Marquette. In her free time, she had an interest in the stock market and financials, she also enjoyed watching Milwaukee Brewer games.

Joan is survived by her nieces and nephews Thomas (Donna) Wellnitz, Mary (Paul) Marty, Carol (Mike) Keller, Bill (Barb) Wellnitz, John (Lisa) Wellnitz, and Michael (Jodee) Wellnitz. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, niece Janet, and sister Grace Wellnitz.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown, with Rev. Ray Bezanson presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary Help of Christians Cemetery in Sullivan.
