Mary Ann Pernat (Nee Sauer), 76 of Ixonia, passed away at Watertown Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She married Everett Michalsky on October 11, 1969, in Oconomowoc. After Everett’s passing, Mary found love with Curt J. Pernat and they were married on April 25, 1976, In Ixonia.
Mary was a strong-minded, feisty lady who was firm in her beliefs. She was member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ixonia for 50 years, treasurer for the Ixonia Vintage Tractor Expo, Owner of DownHome Collectables, and an avid supporter of anything agriculturally related, especially the Oconomowoc FFA/FFA Alumni.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Curt J. Pernat, her children Jennifer (Greg) Zwieg, John (Jodi) Pernat, Luke (Mary) Pernat, Amanda (Brian) Bauer. The loves of her life, her grandchildren Chandler(Alexis) and Emma Zwieg, Ariana and Jaxon Pernat, Isabela Kresnak and Case Pernat, Morgan and Miranda Bauer, and great granddaughter Finley Zwieg. Further survived by her sister, Barbara Tessmann, and brother David (Tammy) Sauer, among other family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her first husband Everett Michalsky, her parents, Rueben and Miriam Sauer, and her brother-in-law Stephen Tessmann.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the family that will be equally divided between St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Oconomowoc FFA Alumni charities appreciated.
Funeral service for Mary will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ixonia, with Rev. Allen Tetzlaff, Rev. Martin Stuebs, and Rev. Lance Hoff presiding. Visitation will be held at the Church on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 5:00-7:00PM and on Tuesday at 11:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Norwegian Cemetery.
