Mary J. Beyer, 86, of Waterloo/Marshall, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Columbus Nursing and Rehab.
Mary was born on July 18, 1939, in Watertown, the daughter of William and Mary (Heideman) Wedeward. She was a graduate from Waterloo High School and worked for over 24 years at Perry Printing. She was a longtime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She married Virgil Beyer on April 27, 1990, and the couple enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and summers at their home on the lake in Arbor Vitae. In Mary’s free time she enjoyed music and crafts, and most importantly, spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
Mary is survived by her husband Virgil, children David Kurkowski, Larry Kurkowski, Debra (Dan) Bower, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Wedeward, and daughter-in-law Kim Kurkowski.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Rainbow Hospice for the care and compassion given to Mary.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo, with Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo.
