Marilyn Dolores Schuett, 95 of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Columbus Health and Rehab.
Marilyn Dolores DeMarsh Krejcsi was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 21, 1930, the daughter of Dorothy (Hahn) DeMarsh Krejcsi and Clayton DeMarsh. Her stepfather was Charles Krejcsi. Marilyn attended schools in Lincolnwood, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Amundsen High School of Chicago, Illinois, in June of 1948. Marilyn married Arnold Schuett on February 18, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Waterloo, Wisconsin. The couple was blessed with 53 happy years together until Arnold’s passing in 2014. Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper for most of her life, notably for Wells Mfg. Co. of Chicago, Illinois, Scheel International of Chicago, Illinois, Chilsen Pontiac of Waterloo, Sussek Machine Corp. of Waterloo, and Davis Instrument of Marshall. She enjoyed crocheting, writing poetry, figure drawing, and was an avid reader who donated many books to the library for others to enjoy as much as she enjoyed them.
Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Kruesel of Waterloo and Carol (James) Annu-Groen of Texas, granddaughter Sarah Anne Kruesel of Waterloo, and sister Cynthia Krejcsi of Evanston, Illinois. Marilyn is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Schuett, her mother Dorothy (Hahn) Krejcsi, her stepfather Charles Krejcsi, her sister Dianne Welch, brother Charles Krejcsi, and son-in-law Tom Kruesel.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Oak Hill Cemetery of Waterloo with Rev. Tim Knipfer presiding.
