Lynn Rettschlag

June 24, 1938 — May 6, 2017

Lynn Rettschlag 78, of Waterloo passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Lynn was born on June 24, 1938 in Hubbleton the son of Harold and Cora (Hermann) Rettschlag. Lynn graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1956 and was united in marriage with Jode Hebl on January 14, 1979. Lynn worked for 39+ years at Artcraft Press/Royle Printing until his retirement in 2011. He gave back to his community with 20 years of dedicated volunteer service to the Waterloo Fire & EMS Service. Lynn loved his family, gardening and of course the Badgers, Brewers & Packers. He loved to can his veggies and make sauerkraut. Most recently he enjoyed a great trip to New Orleans.
Survivors include: his loving and caring wife Jode Rettschlag of Waterloo; Sons Trent Rettschlag of Rochester Hills, MI and Gregg (Alisa) Rettschlag of Boise, ID; Grandsons Joshua and Michael Rettschlag; Sisters Joyce (Dave) Gehler and June Hensler; Brother Larry Rettschlag; Brother-in-law Keith (Mary Kay) Hebl; He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials to Waterloo Fire and EMS Supporters, Inc. or Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek would be appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Lyle, and sister and brother-in-law Joann (Bob) Berndt, brother-in-law Don Hensler.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Waterloo with the Rev. Robb Kosky presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Waterloo.
Special thanks to Drs. Ahmed, Cooley & Uboha and their teams at UW-Hospital for the wonderful care Lynn received over the past year. Special thanks to Lynn's Rainbow Hospice team for the loving care and comfort extended to all of us this past week. Special thanks to all the friends and family that have been a part of Lynn's journey to be with the Lord.
