Lon M. Hoeppner, 61 of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Aurora St. Luke’s of Milwaukee.
Lon was born on January 27, 1965, in Wisconsin, the son of Leonard and Sylvia (Roeder) Hoeppner. Lon worked for most of his life as a carpenter and was able to fix just about anything, and if he couldn’t, he always knew someone who could. Lon took every opportunity he could to go camping with family and friends, especially at River Bend. He made friends wherever he went. When he wasn’t out camping, Lon enjoyed listening to music, woodworking, and cooking, particularly his famous chili. Above all else, Lon treasured time spent playing with his grandchildren and being with his family.
Lon is survived by: his fiancé Kim Zimmerman; father Leonard (Barb) Hoeppner; mother Sylvia Roeder; children Christopher (Courtney) Hoeppner and Naomi (Owen Bailey) Hoeppner; grandchildren Fiona, Leonard, and other grandchildren; siblings Quinn Hoeppner, Michelle (Doug) Briggs, and Raquel (Ludwig) Hansen; sister-in-law Cheri Hoeppner; and beloved cats Thor and Diesel. Lon is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lon is preceded in death by his brother Kim Hoeppner, uncle Bernard Hoeppner, and other relatives.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Aurora St. Luke’s, especially Gabby, Erin, and Amanda, for the loving care provided to Lon over the past week.
