Llewellyn Daniels, "Dr. Lou", 86, of Watertown passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, at Rainbow Hospice surrounded by his family.
Lou was born and raised in Karachi, West Pakistan, son of Rev. Eric and Daisy Daniels. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Islamic College, majoring in History and Political Science, Lou continued pursuing his education in Nashville, Tennessee.
Llewellyn achieved an additional Master's Degree in Christian education, a license in Professional Counseling, and a Doctorate Degree in Human Resource Development. His journey was always about his love for humanity. He was pivotal in overseeing the work incentive program for the State of Wisconsin which led him to found Employment Training Consultants. Throughout his career with ETC, he would locate government funding to assist businesses in hiring and training qualified candidates. He later co-founded THRIVE Treatment Services with his daughter Jenna, which provides services for Treatment Foster Care.
Lou met the love of his life, Mary Kay Daniels (Rinke) in May of 1967. The first night that Kay and Lou met, Lou playfully read her palm as he often did. Her reading included a future where she would marry someone from another country and have four children. Shortly before Lou's passing, they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. They created a beautiful family together, including two daughters and two sons. Lou took pleasure in traveling with Kay, enjoying international cuisine, being at the lake house to enjoy the boat and sunshine, and spending as much time with his friends and family as he could.
Lou is survived by his devoted wife, Kay Daniels, and his children, Jenna (Mark Heller) Daniels, John (Christy) Daniels, and Jilleen (Adam Haupt) Daniels Lou was the most remarkable Poppi to his seven grandchildren, Brianna Daniels, Collin Heller, Makaylah Bociek, Morgan Heller, Kamran Haupt, Jack Daniels, and Mason Haupt. Lou was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild, expected in August 2024.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Jason Daniels, his two brothers, Archie and Johnnie Daniels, sister-in- law Olive Daniels, and his parents.
Our Poppi was our rock, the one that had the energy that would pull you in. He was the guiding light, leading his children and grandchildren with boundless wisdom and patience.
We turned to him for everything, knowing he would always be there with the right advice and words that made things make sense. His laughter was infectious, bringing joy to everyone around him. His heart was always open, eager to help anyone in need. He taught us the true meaning of respect and the importance of family, values we will carry with us forever.
We will cherish him and make him proud.
The family will be hosting a private service to honor his life. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
