Leona R. Borchardt

Leona Rose Borchardt (100), died Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Alden Estates of Jefferson where she had been residing for the past seven years.

Leona, daughter of Floyd and Lena Farnsworth, was born October 7, 1926 in Fort Atkinson, WI. She married John A. Borchardt on December 30, 1947. She lived in the area for most of her life. She held a position as a telephone operator early on, and then held several positions as a secretary in various medical facilities in Fort Atkinson, Madison, and Florida. She also worked part-time at Walmart in Watertown in her later years until she retired at age 90. She was a member of Anchor Bible Church in Whitewater.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny; her father and mother, Floyd and Lena Farnsworth; her sister, Lucille Kucken; and her brother, Laverne (Bud) Farnsworth. Survivors include her daughter Lynda Goudreau of Kingsland, TX; her sons John Jr. (Janette) Borchardt of Pulaski, TN and Jeff (Cindy) Borchardt of Watertown, WI; her daughter Lori (Jerry) Brown of Raleigh, NC; 16 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Anchor Bible Church, 545 S. Putnam Street, Whitewater, WI, with her son, Pastor Jeff Borchardt officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service starts at 11 a.m. A small luncheon will follow.

There will be no interment service.
