Karl L. Kayzar, 87 of Watertown, passed away on September 6, 2023, at the Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Karl was born was born August 27, 1936, in Aurora, IL, the son of Paul and Helen (Klemowitz) Kayzar. He faithfully served his country in United States Army during the Korean War. Karl was a brick layer in his early career, later becoming an iron worker for the next 45 years of his life. He worked on many high rises in Chicago and around the country, and he loved heights. Karl enjoyed restoring his old Farmall tractor. He belonged to the Dodge County Tractor Club and the Ixonia Tractor Club for many years. His favorite hobby was taking care of his lawn.
Karl is survived by: his wife Sadonna; son Brett Kayzar; daughter Brenda Kayzar; two step-children Shelley Myhre and Sherry Myhre; brothers Howard (Maureen) Kayzar and George Kayzar; 3 grandchildren Tristan (Rachel) Myhre, Charles (Samantha) Tarter, Casey (Eric) Frasser; and 10 great-grandchildren. Karl is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul (Audrey) Kayzar.
A Friends and Family Gathering will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home of Watertown. Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
