Karen Scheel

June 17, 1943 — May 8, 2015

Karen J. Scheel, 71 of Waterloo, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 08, 2015 at home.
Karen was born on June 17, 1943 in Columbus, the daughter of Alvin & Ethel (Bennin) Scheel. She was a dedicated employee of Perry Printing for many years. Karen was a long-time member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Waterloo, where she enjoyed helping with the church's newsletter. She loved going to Cindy Lou's where she met her friends for "Coffee Clutch". Karen was a loving caregiver and spent many hours helping her dear friend, Carrie babysit children. Karen's front porch was the neighborhood meeting spot and she loved visiting with her many friends.
Karen is survived by: her Son Jon (Tera) Driver of Dane and Daughter Terri Doherty of Nekoosa; 7 Grandchildren Timmothy, Brannon, Marisa, Katelyn, Aisha, Joshua, and Corde; 3 Great-Grandchildren; and very special friends Carrie & Corey Besl and their children Ian, Maximos, and Xavier. She is also survived by a number of relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, and her beloved Daughter Wendy.
Memorials in Karen's honor to St. John's Ev. Luther Church of Waterloo would be aprriciated.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00PM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery of Waterloo.
