Judith A. Gaffney 80, of Waterloo passed away on Wednesday November 19, 2014 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center.
Judy was born on Aug. 16, 1934 in Madison the daughter of Bart and Mary (Laffey) Foley. She was a 1952 graduate of Waterloo High School. Judy married John F. Gaffney on June 10, 1957 in Dubuque, IA. Judy worked at Rayovac in Madison and Perry Printing in Waterloo until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Waterloo and the parish Altar Sodality. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to the staff at Highland House, Hillside Home Health, and Rainbow Hospice for the wonderful care given to Judy during this difficult time. To each of you who spent time with Judy, God has given us many Angels here on Earth. May he keep you in the palm of his hand.
Survivors include: four children Patricia (Eugene) Weihert of Waterloo, Judy Kaminski in Adell, WI, John "Jack" Gaffney of Montana and Randell "Ruggy" Gaffney of Arizona; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two daughter in laws Mavis Gaffney of Arizona and Susan Gaffney of Florida; sister in law Sandra Foley of Waterloo. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother John "Chick" Foley. Memorials to Holy Family, Hillside Home Health, Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center or the Waterloo Fire & EMS Supports, Inc . , would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 6:00 PM on Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Holy Family Parish Waterloo with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4-6 PM. Burial will be in the parish Cemetery.
