Helene Kaupert, 85 of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Marquardt Village of Watertown.
Helene was born on June 4, 1931 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Josef and Bertha (Abraham) Gasper. On May 23, 1953 she married Horst W. Kaupert in Germany. The couple had one daughter and enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his death in 2011. She worked for many years for Cress Packing and cleaned houses as well. Helene loved to garden and was a talented baker. She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her faith was of the utmost importance and she loved going to church. She is described as kind, gentle, generous - and she was always up on the latest news. She was a dear lady who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by: her Daughter Trudy Grossman of Waterloo; Granddaughters Trina (Marlin) Hensler, Traci Baumann, Tara (Joe) Brandl, Trisha (Mark) Laufenberg; Great-Grandchildren Marcus, Trey, Caden, Makenna, Bryce, Tavian, and Thyren all of Marshall. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A Mass Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Holy Family Parish - Waterloo Campus with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
