Hans A. Dunneisen, 91, of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Hans was born on July 31, 1932, in the Town of Otsego, the son of Fred and Frieda (Zenger) Dunneisen. He married the love of his life Bernice Hensler on June 4, 1955, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and the couple enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Hans proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of the VFW Post 6614 and American Legion Post 233. Hans was a milk hauler, farmer, livestock hauler, and also worked for Dunneisen Excavating, retiring at the age of 82. He was a jack of all trades and would help anyone that had a problem. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

 Hans is survived by his wife Bernice, sons Randall (Delight Hensler), Douglas, daughter Kathleen, grandchildren: Lucas (Breanna) Dunneisen, Micheal Dunneisen, and Amanda (Craig) Trumpf. Great-grandchildren Austin and Wyatt Dunneisen, Tenley and Brantley Trumpf, his brother Robert (Mary Lou) Dunneisen, and sister-in-law Betty Dunneisen. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Gertrude (Harvey) Yelk, brother Fritz Dunneisen, and daughter-in-law Toni Dunneisen.

A private family graveside service with full military honors will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo.
