Grace C. Miller 99, of Watertown passed away on December 8, 2014 of natural causes at the Golden Living Center in Watertown.
Grace was born on August 1, 1915 in the Township of Milford, daughter of the late William and Martha (Moll) Altenburg. Grace married Andrew M. Miller on April 22, 1939 at Mamre Moravian Church. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1987. Grace worked at Kline's Department Store and then at Eaton Corporation till her retirement. Grave loved gardening, refinishing furniture, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, traveling, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Watertown Moravian Church and had a very special place in her heart for Mamre Moravian Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger G. Miller in June 2003, four brothers, George, Ben, Herbert, Harry and three sisters, Esther Bergdoll, Meta Altenburg and Elsie Gronert. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired may be made to Mamre Moravian Church of Watertown Moravian Church. Her family extends a deep appreciation to the staff of Golden Living Center for their outstanding care during the last eight years of her life. Also appreciation for the gentle and kind care of Ascera Care Hospice for the last days of her life.
Survivors include: son, Victor A. (Margaret) Miller of Watertown; three grandchildren, Dawn (Ron) Peterson of Caledonia, WI, Rebecca A. Miller of Cambridge, MA and Victor A. Miller II of San Francisco, CA; two great grandchildren, Anna Peterson and Andrew Peterson of Caledonia, WI; sister, Linda Hilker of Watertown. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Watertown with the Rev. Barbara Berg presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30-1:00 pm. Burial will be in Mamre Moravian Cemetery
