Glenn R. Harke

Glenn R. Harke, 73, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Marquardt Park Terrace.

Glenn was born on June 9, 1950, in Green Bay, the son of Albert and Lois (Moser) Harke. Glenn was a graduate of Madison LaFollette High School in 1968; he then earned his Bachelor’s degree in theatre and music from Carroll College in Waukesha. He worked for a research company in the medical field for his entire career. Glenn had a love for music and was a talented organist. He truly enjoyed being involved with the Watertown Moravian Church in the choir and being an office volunteer. In his free time he was an avid reader, enjoyed entertaining friends, and volunteering at numerous Moravian churches, and also volunteered with Marquardt by transporting individuals to appointments. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Glenn is survived by his mother Lois, brother Gary (Bonnee Lauridsen) Harke, his sister Janice Harke. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at Watertown Moravian Church with Rev. Kurt Liebenow presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place the following day at Sister Bay Moravian Cemetery, in Sister Bay, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Glenn’s honor to Marquardt Foundation, Inc. (1045 Hill St. Watertown, WI 53098) and Watertown Moravian Church (510 Cole St. Watertown, WI 53094) would be appreciated.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Marquardt and Common Heart Hospice for the care and compassion given to Glenn.
