Francis Raymond Fincutter

February 2, 1945 — March 24, 2024

Watertown

Francis Raymond “Frank” Fincutter, 79, of Watertown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Frank was born on February 2, 1945, in Waukegan, Illinois, to parents Edward Sr. and Ruth Fincutter, the second of three children. He was baptized at St. Gilbert's Catholic Church in Gray’s Lake, Illinois on February 25, 1945. On May 11, 1952, he had his First Communion at St. Peter's Church in Antioch, Illinois. He then spent his childhood and teen years growing up in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Frank also served in the National Guard. On August 19, 1967, he married Doris Kugath at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Whitewater. In 1976, they built their forever home on Little Coffee Road in Watertown, Wisconsin where they raised four children: Lynette, William, Laura and Andrew.

Frank drove truck for Lorman Metals, George Weis Excavations, Fairway Transit, and Wis-Pak Bottling. To end his trucking career, he worked for Jerry Hepp Excavating working alongside his two sons, Bill and Andy.

In his retirement, you could find Frank sitting at table number 2 at his favorite breakfast spot, Deegs. You could spot him with the daily newspapers, a pot of coffee, and his own “Frank’s” sugar. After Deeg’s closure, he went back to his old stomping grounds, The Pine Cone, for breakfast. He was known as the local inspector of the area: driving around checking to see who had their crops in, who had their corn harvested, and how the ditch banks were mowed. He even enjoyed checking for wildlife in the area and reporting the big bucks he saw back to the family. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapshooting with friends and family.

His greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He was their greatest supporter and he shared many great words of wisdom with them. He had some great one-liners that we refer to as “Frankisms” that everyone will remember fondly.

Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years Doris; and their children, Lynette (Alec) Ellsworth, and their children, Elizabeth, Abigail, Emerson, Josiah, Ben, and Wren; Bill (Ann) Fincutter, and their children, James, Kyle, and Jenna; Laura (Brad) Riesen, and their children, Marin, Brecken, Meyer, and Owen; Andy (Julie) Fincutter, and their children Hailey and Brady. Frank is further survived by his sister Ruthann Guendert, and his nieces and nephews: Mike and Mark Fincutter, Trisha Hebbe, Christopher Prechel and Tara Prechel. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Fincutter.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center for the excellent care they provided to Frank.

If desired, memorials in Frank’s name to Rainbow Hospice, Make-A-Wish, or the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home of Watertown with Fr. Manuel Mendez presiding.
