Floyd was born on January 26, 1924 in Watertown, WI the Son of Walter and Estella (Kehr) Usher. He was a 1942 Graduate of Watertown High School and later earned an Engineering Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. On July 2, 1949, Floyd married his loving wife, Kathleen Winner in Madison and the couple enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He served his country during WWII as a Platoon Sergeant and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and The Purple Heart for his selfless service and injuries sustained during combat. Floyd recognized God's Hand on his life during his war-time experience and considered himself lucky to be alive, as the sniper's bullet meant for his head, took off only the top of his ear.

He was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion/VFW, an avid pheasant hunter, loved golf and as a young man excelled at speed skating on the Rock River. Above all other interests, Floyd was a devoted husband and father, always putting his faith and family first. He will be greatly missed.
