Eunice Mary Weihert, 97, of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
Eunice, the daughter of Axel and Helen (nee Fridlund) Madsen, was born November 24, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, then later in life moved to Wisconsin.
She was united in marriage to Donald Weihert on December 14, 1946, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church of Waterloo by Rev. Nitz and they enjoyed 59 years together. She started her working journey at the shoe factory followed by Jim Cheese, waitressing and at last Perry Printing until her retirement. She enjoyed her weekly Sunday dinners with her family, playing cards, biweekly trips to the Casino, her bus trips with friends and Las Vegas trips. She lived life to the fullest and was the glue that kept the family together. She will be missed.
She is survived by her children: Patricia Lewellin-Waterloo, Gary (Roxanne) Weihert-Oxford, Cynthia (Norbert Zander)-lowa/Florida, Eugene (Patricia) Waterloo, Steven (Sue) Neshkoro, Darlene (Jim Cook) Reeseville, Marlene (John Eggert) Waterloo, Susan Zimmermann-Waterloo, Daniel (Barbara) Weihert Waterloo, son-in-law Fred Yerges-Waterloo. Further survived by 35 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and one brother Delwood Madsen-Columbus. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son, parents, 3 children - Donna Yerges, David Weihert, Mary Vance, 3 grandsons Jeremy Pergande, Jason Rogers, Jerry Schaalma, 8 sisters and 5 brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo, with Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will take place at the church Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00-7:00pm and Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Waterloo Fire & EMS Supporters Inc., St. John Ev. Lutheran Church or the Waterloo American Legion.
