Eunice J. Goetsch

Another faithful servant of the Lord was called home to heaven on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Eunice Joyce Goetsch was born February 16, 1929 in Watertown to Raymond and Esther Rabenhorst.   Being raised on a farm  by godly parents,  she learned the value of hard work,  along with the importance of the  Lord and His church.   She graduated from Johnson Creek High School in 1945, and married her childhood friend,  Marvin Goetsch,  on June 7, 1947.  The Lord blessed their home with three children,  Ginny,  John and Mark, whom they taught by example the importance of faithful church attendance,  reading God's Word,  and living a life to honor Him.

Marvin and Eunice were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown since 1962.  Many hours were spent as custodians, but in 1976, Eunice took on the duties of church secretary which spanned the next 41 years.  Even after her husband passed away in 2003, her service for the Lord continued in the office,  but also as a mighty prayer warrior for her church family,  her children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughter,  Virginia (Ginny) of Machesney Park, IL, sons John  and his wife, Diane of Lancaster,  CA, and Mark and his wife,  Melany of Pensacola,  FL, 9 grandchildren,  25 great-grandchildren,  brother,  Glenn Rabenhorst of Watertown,  and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded to glory by her parents,  Raymond and Esther Rabenhorst,  husband,  Marvin, sisters Lorraine Goetsch and Donna Schroeder,  and son-in-law, Larry Gray. 

We rejoice that Eunice is finally home, and we can look forward to seeing her again one day!

A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Eunice will be laid to rest at River Road Cemetery following the service.
