Waterloo-Elmer G. Henning , 92 of Waterloo, passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Elmer was born on January 21, 1923 in Columbus, WI, the son of William and Lizzie (Arndt) Henning. Elmer married Ruth Hensler on March 16, 1957 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo were he was a member. Fishing, farming and family were his life.
Survivors include: Wife Ruth Henning of Waterloo; five children Cynthia Henning of Waterloo, Daniel (RoseAnne) Henning of Fall River, Neal Henning of Waterloo, Lyle Henning of Waterloo and Sandra Henning of Columbus; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents, son Jerry, granddaughter Tara, grandson Scott and brothers Robert, William and Harry. The family would appreciate memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or School. The family wishes to thank Columbus Nursing and Rehab for all their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held 2:00PM on Monday January 26, 2015 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Waterloo with the Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday 12-2 PM. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo.
