Ellen K. Burbach

Ellen K. Burbach, 85, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, just shy of her 86th birthday.

Ellen was born on August 19, 1940, in Watertown, the daughter of Edward and Esteve (Garity) Meyers Sr. A proud graduate of Watertown High School. She married the love of her life Robert Burbach on March 27, 1960, and the couple enjoyed 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Faith was a cornerstone of Ellen’s days. An active member of the River Valley Alliance Church, she found both comfort and purpose in her church family, rarely missing an opportunity for fellowship, especially those treasured mornings spent sharing a cup of coffee with her church friends. Whether in service, worship, or simple acts of kindness, Ellen radiated a gentle love and acceptance that endeared her to so many.

Ellen’s life was also marked by a zest for community and a few special passions. She was, with devoted loyalty, an avid Chicago Cubs fan—a trait that brought laughter and camaraderie to those around her.

Ellen’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She celebrated and supported her loved ones in every way, delighting in being present for their lives, accomplishments, and special moments. Her nurturing spirit and boundless affection for taking care of her grandchildren will remain a cherished memory, lovingly passed from one generation to the next.

She is survived by her children Sandi Blann, Linda (Jon) Blase, Andrew (Carol) Burbach, grandchildren: Kyle, Robert, Courtney, Andrea (Daniel), Rachel, Amanda (Nick), as well as her great-grandchildren River, Lilly, Kady, and Alanna. Ellen also leaves behind her dear sister Barb Ott, her brother Edward (Diane) Meyers Jr. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Burbach.

A memorial service will take place at River Valley Alliance Church, at 11:00am on August 18, 2026, with Pastor Mark Sina presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at St. Isadore Cemetery in Clyman.
