Elizabeth E. "Betty" Grosnick, 93, of Watertown passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Watertown.

Betty was born on December 15, 1921 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Hilmer and Esther (Schumacher) Sonnemann. She attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Watertown High School. She continued her education at Valparaiso University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in December 1942. After graduation from college, she taught high-school English and Latin in Ludington, Michigan. On December 30, 1945, she married Dr. Arthur F. After their return to Wisconsin in the late 1940s, Betty began her long career as a teacher in the Lutheran schools. She taught the elementary grades for over 35 years at St. John's Lutheran School and St. Peter's Lutheran School.

Betty was a willing and capable volunteer with her church, teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, and serving as a member of the LWML. After her retirement from teaching, she volunteered at Bethesda Lutheran Home, both working in the thrift store and assisting with office work, and served at the Watertown Food Pantry.
