Eileen Clawson

June 14, 1919 — July 12, 2012

Eileen Clawson, age 93, of Watertown passed away on July 12, 2012 at Rainbow Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
Eileen was born on Flag Day June 14, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio, the only child of Josephine and David Hale. She married Edwin Clawson in Toledo on Sept. 1, 1944 after a whirlwind 3-month courtship, and they enjoyed 60 years together. Eileen raised her family, did volunteer work, and worked in the fine jewelry business for 40 years, becoming an award-winning diamond salesperson. In 1990 she and Ed moved to Watertown to watch their grandson Eamon grow up and to be part of his life. In Watertown, she enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and Women's Center, gardening, playing bridge, and spending time with the many friends she made in her adopted town.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by son David Clawson (Kay) of Toledo, Oh.; daughter Adria Clawson (Ron Bauman) of Neosho, Wis.; grandson Eamon Bauman; granddaughter Adria Clawson Mew (Philip); and great-grandson Taylor Clawson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Rainbow Hospice Care, 147 W. Rockwell, Jefferson, Wis. 53549 or St. Bernard Catholic Church, 114 S. Church St., Watertown, Wis. 53094 would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 16, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Msgr. Dan Ganshert presiding.
