Dorothy Eva Marie (Rohde) Tooley, 87 of Waterloo, passed from this life on Friday, March 4, 2016.
Born on August 20, 1928, in Sauk County, WI, to Hugo Richard and Gretchen Anna (Baars) Rohde, Dorothy was a graduate of Bethany Lutheran High School of Mankato, MN. She married Robert Lee Tooley on March 16, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Baraboo, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents in her youth; by two unborn infants, and her dearly loved Husband, Bob. She is survived by: Son Richard Lee Tooley of Marshall, Daughter Katherine Jane Tooley of Tulsa, OK; Grandchildren Eric Lee Tooley of Scottsdale, AZ and Dana Marie Tooley of Sun Prairie; Great-granddaughter Emma Marie Rice of Sun Prairie; Brother H.W (Janice) Rohde of Kansas City, MO; Sisters-in-Law Ruth Tooley of Shelton, WA and Norma (John) Meisel of Platteville. Dorothy is also survived by a number of well-loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was very active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo, the Waterloo Woman's Club, the Legion Auxiliary and Meals-on-Wheels. She was also very supportive of her children's school activities and was well known for her sea-foam/divinity candy and as a band and drama Mom. She was an avid reader of western novels, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, working crossword puzzles, being a pet Mom and was fantastic cook.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshall.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshall with Rev. Paul Anderson presiding. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
