Doris J. Pirkel

Doris J. Pirkel, 88, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at The View in Johnson Creek.

Doris was born on September 10, 1937, in Richwood, Wisconsin, the daughter of Wilfred and Adeline (Wolff) Nickels. She married the love of her life John Pirkel on May 18, 1957, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown, and the couple enjoyed 69 wonderful years of marriage. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to country music, and attending concerts with her husband. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Doris is survived by her husband John, children Chris (Agnes McConville) Pirkel, Tim (Tammy) Pirkel, Mark Pirkel, Jane Kurth, and Cathy (Mary Kamuchey) Pirkel, John (Robin) Pirkel, brothers Will (Kathy) Nickels and Hugo (Nellie) Nickels, her sister Marie Uselman, and sister-in-law Pat Nickels. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Leroy.

A memorial service will take place at 12:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St Bernard’s Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Renz presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00am until the time of service.
