Doris M. Anderson, 90, of Watertown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Doris was born on February 12, 1936, in Viking, Minnesota, the daughter of Tobias and Olga (Haaseth) Melvie. She married the love of her life Rodney Anderson on November 24, 1961, in Viking, MN, and the couple enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage.
A devoted registered nurse who graduated college with her nursing degree, Doris was known for her kind heart, a spirit that never met a stranger, and her love for the Lord.
As a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Doris’s proudest accomplishments included helping Rodney plant the West Salem Baptist Church in 1978 and serving as a long-time pastor’s wife at First Baptist Church in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin from 1987 to 2017. She touched many lives with her generosity and unwavering faith. Doris’s legacy of love, faith, and service will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Doris is lovingly survived by her husband Rodney, children, David (Abi) Anderson and Michelle (Jim) Knudsen; her ten grandchildren: David Jr. (Melissa) Anderson, Danae (Lois) Fonseca, Daniel (Timbrel) Anderson, Darcy (Asher) Vincent, Kimberly (Jordan) Alexander, Jeremy (Cassidy) Knudsen, Joshua (Abby) Knudsen, Kristiann (Ben) Kashuba, Drew Anderson and Dori Anderson; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. Her siblings who remain are Ruth (Larry) Bjorness, Lorraine Anderson, Lloyd (Sharon) Melvie, and Claudia (Leif) Hartmark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Debbie Anderson and 6 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown with Rev. Dr. Robbert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery in Watertown.
