Donald “DA” Arians, age 72, passed away quietly in his home on Friday, November 3, 2023, from complications of a stroke he suffered in March.
Don was born on May 10, 1951, to Gerath and Elizabeth Arians. Don was a lifelong resident of Waterloo, Wisconsin, a three-sport letterman graduating with the Waterloo High School Class of 1969. He had been a member of the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department and a long-time member of the Waterloo Gun Club. He loved fishing and hunting and was an enthusiastic fan of Wisconsin sports.
Don is survived by his long-time and dedicated partner Kathleen Herfel and their son Andy Herfel (Nicole) of DeForest, WI and five grandchildren: Andrew, Audyn, Acen, Arthur, and Arlo. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Arians of Waterloo, brothers Richard Arians (Ruth) of Madison Lake, MN; and David “Cat” Arians (Debbie) of Waterloo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Gerath “Dick” Arians.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church of Waterloo with Fr. Vincent Brewer presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. A celebration of life will continue following the Mass at The Pit Stop in Portland.
