David “Pub” Kopplin, 75, of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Pub was born on March 3, 1950, in Hustisford, WI, the son of Louis and Betty (Dittman) DePover. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life Patricia Miescher in June 6,1988, and the couple enjoyed 37 years of marriage. He was a lifelong member of the Waterloo Gun Club. In Pub’s free time he enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Milwaukee Brewers, and old western movies, he loved his many lab dogs that he had and was a friend to many people. Pub loved being outdoors, or hanging in the garage, you could always find him sitting there with an ice-cold Busch Lite in his hand. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Pub is survived by his wife Patricia, children Brandi Krause, Ryan ( Christy) Kopplin, Tyler Kopplin, and his grandchildren Wyatt and Emery. He is further survived by his brother Larry Kopplin, sister Sue (Patrick) Punzel, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, brother Neil Kopplin, and his sister Sheila O’Conner.
Per Pub’s wishes there will be no formal funeral services.
