David Ellis

David G. Ellis, 71 of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
David was born on November 4, 1942 in Janesville, WI to L. Gordon and Ruth (Johnson) Ellis. He was a 1960 graduate of Waterloo High School. David served his country in the US Air Force from 1961-1967 and earned the rank of Airman First Class (E4). David married Joyce M. Paxton on February 16, 1963 in Madison and the couple enjoyed 50+ years of marriage. He worked as a delivery man for Sara Lee Bakery for 26 years. David was an avid outdoorsman and loved duck hunting. He loved to gamble and sometimes even won. He was an enthusiastic Wisconsin sports fan but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
David is survived by: his wife Joyce of Watertown; children Joseph (Sue) Ellis of Watertown, JoAnn (Tom) Brumm of Watertown, Matthew Ellis of Stoddard, Michael (Kathy) Ellis of Watertown; grandchildren Caitlin Ellis, Miranda Brumm, Samuel Brumm, Anesah Ellis, Cory McAnelly, Matthew McAnelly, Jesstina McAnelly, Trever Statz, Adam Statz; brother Richard Ellis of Waterloo; sisters Jeannette Madonna of Fayetteville, NC and Beverly (Larry) Burbach of Madison. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Todd.
A friends and family gathering will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home. A burial service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery of Watertown on Sunday at 2:30PM.
